Nara Park (Deer Park)
The park is popularly called the “Deer Park” because of its numerous deer. There are about 1200 tame deer roaming about the park. They are regarded as divine messengers of the Kasuga Srine so they are well cared by Nara citizen. They are wild deer but are not afraid of people. Visitors can feed “deer crackers” to them.
